Thief runs off with white gold wedding ring worth £1,200

A thief ran out of a jewellery store with a set of wedding rings worth £1,200.

The man went into H Samuel in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre at 11.45am on September 18. He asked to look at an expensive engagement and wedding ring set. He engaged the assistant in conversation, then took the rings and ran out of the store.

He ran into the main shopping area and left the shopping centre, turning into Queens Road. He was last seen running down South Terrace in the direction of St Andrews Square.

The wedding and engagement ring set is described as ‘Perfect Fit’ nine carat white gold, with 2/3 carat diamond bridal set.

The suspect is described as in his 40s, white, 5’ 8” with dark hair. He was wearing a light pink top and carried a Sports Direct bag. He is also said to have dirty looking hands.
