Children from both ARK Little Ridge and ARK Blacklands Primary Academies attended an Enterprise Day at ARK William Parker Academy last week.

It was run jointly by ARK 6th formers as part of their Business Studies A-level. Their role was to assist with the general planning and running of the event as part of their assessment.

The year six pupils started the day designing a Halloween-themed product, which they then made, using a variety of materials and processes.

Later they created and videoed their own short TV adverts promoting their products.

Children got to grips with all the relevant processes that businesses go through to generate income and at the end they presented their ads to a judging panel. Winning groups were chosen and prizes awarded.

Lorraine Apps, who co-ordinated the event, said: “It was a great day; everybody really enjoyed the event and it is obvious that we have some budding young entrepreneurs in both of the primary schools. We hope this will become an annual event. ”
