A body found in the sea off Goring beach on Sunday is not that of a missing yachtsman Len King.
Police were called to the scene at 12.20pm, where a man had been reported 200 metres out to sea.
The body, of a man in his 50s, is not that of missing Alfriston yachtsman Len King, whose empty boat was found drifting near Brighton Marina on Sunday, November 9, or a man reported to have jumped from Brighton Pier on Thursday.
The death is being treated as unexplained.
A police spokesman said: “At 12.21pm on Sunday, police were called to the beach at Worthing where members of Worthing Sailing Club had found a man’s body some 200 metres out to sea.
“The incident is currently being investigated as an unexplained death. The identity of the man is known to police but he has not yet been formally identified.”
