Students and academy celebrate achievements

Students at St Leonards Academy celebrated both individual achievements and the academy coming out on top as the highest achieving school in the town.

The St Leonards Academy held its annual Year 11 Celebration Evening at the White Rock Theatre on Friday, November 14.

Students, staff, parents and guests, including the Mayor of Hastings, Bruce Dowling, gathered to mark the achievements of last year’s year 11 students and celebrate the academy’s accolade as the highest achieving school in the town this year.

Guest of honour Amber Rudd MP presented GCSE certificates, Curriculum and Academy Awards, praising students and the school for their achievements. She said: “I thoroughly enjoyed presenting the certificates and awards to the hard-working and ambitious St Leonards Academy class of 2013/14. It was wonderful to meet so many high-achieving students and with the excellent teaching and the range of facilities available I have no doubt that St Leonards Academy will continue to go from strength to strength.”
