A woman has been fined for disturbing her neighbours with loud music and shouting.
Claire King, of Friston House, Warrior Square, St Leonards, was issued with an Abatement Notice by Hastings Borough Council on October 1 but failed to comply to it. It banned her from playing amplified music and shouting. She breached the notice twice on October 4 and 7 and was proven guilty in her absence at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on December 19. She was ordered to pay £600 for the first offence, £800 for the second offence, £360 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
Councillor Dawn Poole, the council’s lead member for environment, said: “We take complaints about noise very seriously and will prosecute offenders.”
