A brother and sister tapped their way to success at a recent competition in Germany.
Charlie Mockett, 17 and his 14-year-old sister Stephanie, of Acorn Close, St Leonards, were part of the England Tap Team at the tap dancing World Championships last month.
The 46-strong team fought off competition from around 2,000 dancers from 18 countries at the 18th annual event with various routines.
The England team is filled by Tap Attack, a tap dance company comprised of talented tappers from around the UK aged 11 to 28. Both Charlie and Stephanie trained at Laton Ash Dance Centre in Hastings.
Their mum, Karin, said: “My husband and I travelled to support them both and had an extremely emotional week. It is an incredible feeling to watch your child on the podium as a World Champion singing their hearts out to the National Anthem. I was very lucky enough to receive sponsorship this year in order for Charlie and Stephanie to go to Germany to compete. I would like to thank Hastings Youth Trust, Hastings Lions and Booker and Best.”
