Council planners are recommending that a caravan park’s application to keep a holiday let building be refused.
Councillors on Hastings Borough Council’s planning committee will be discussing the scheme submitted by Rocklands Private Caravan Park at a meeting next Wednesday (March 4).
A council spokesman said: “The proposal is a new, full planning application to retain a holiday let building that has been partially constructed without planning permission in the south west corner of Rocklands. The building is similar to a previous planning consent granted in 2012, but the differences are considered to be sufficiently material to warrant a fresh planning application.
“The main issues are the relationship of this proposal to the previous planning consent and the impact on nature conservation interests, the landscape, the historic environment, the residential amenity, ground condition and drainage and tourism development. Planning councillors are therefore being recommended to refuse.
“This will be discussed and decided upon by the planning committee when it meets next week.”
