Five students from Sussex Coast College Prince’s Trust Team 2 put on a fundraising event in the college atrium to raise awareness and funds in support of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, raising almost £150.
The hospice are currently providing palliative care nursing for 11 children in Hastings with terminal illnesses which inspired the young people to hold a fundraising event consisting of a tombola, cake sales, sponsored leg waxing and Guinness World Record attempts.
Christopher Padgham, Prince’s Trust student, said: “This event has been a challenge for us, to work together as a team and raise funds for this great cause. I am proud to be a part of Hastings Team 2.’Charlie Weeks, community fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, said: “We are really touched that the students chose to fundraise for us. It was a fun morning full of exciting fundraising ideas and generosity from everyone involved.”
