Eight budding music stars of the future have been appointed as honorary Musicians in Residence for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust by the charity Arts in Healthcare.
Henry Bristow, Carla Flack, Oliver Grainge, Tom Haines-Matos, Jacob Hopkins, George Nicola, Harry Plant and Isobel Richardson will give their time for free to play at the Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne DGH.
Six of the youngsters gave a musical performance at the Conquest on Sunday (March 8) and were presented with certificates by MP Amber Rudd.
Stuart Welling, trust chairman, said: “The Musicians in Residence are extremely talented and having them play live in our hospitals improves the environment and experience for patients and visitors.” Arts in Healthcare works with health professionals in the trust to integrate the arts into the healthcare services and environment for the therapeutic benefit of patients and staff and for the enjoyment of the community. It organises regular lunchtime music sessions at the trust’s hospitals.
