Emergency services were called to deal with a serious collision between a lorry and a Renault Megane car on the A272 Goldbridge Road, Newick, near Lewes, just after 1pm on Thursday (2 April).
The road is closed in both directions and emergency services remain at the scene.
There are diversions in place and drivers are being asked to avoid the area as the road is likely to be closed for several hours.
