Seaford Residents’ Voice will be holding an event in May where people can put their questions to the Lewes consitituency candidates.
The event will take the form of an ‘Any Questions’ event with all five Lewes constituency candidates answering questions.
It will be held at Seaford Baptist Church at 7.30pm on May 5.
Chairman Richard Wright said: “We take people’s views and shout them from the rooftops. If there is an opinion on what’s happening in the town we try and ensure it’s noticed and acted on.
“We want real people to put real concerns across, to ask real, searching questions. These are candidates for national government, so questions could be about the parties’ national policies, or about parties’ and candidates’ attitudes to local issues.”
He said they want to encourage genuine engagement between the electors and their prospective elected MP.
He continued: “It’s about their attitudes, experience, involvement, and what they’d do as an MP as much as – well, basic honesty. All those things are important. Particularly the last.”
All Seaford residents are welcome.
Richard added: “We really want a good selection of questions.”
Residents are welcome to post questions to S R V, 27 West Street, Seaford or by email to info@SeafordResidentsVoice.co.uk. They must be in by April 30 at the latest.
A draw will take place and successful residents will be notified over that weekend by phone or email.
Richard said: “Everyone’s welcome at the event. But we only have 300 seats, so they should arrive early.”
