Hailsham entertainer Peter Lambert was praised by the Britain’s Got Talent judges after appearing in the show’s fifth semi-final last night (Friday).

The 32-year-old pulled off a risky performance, riding a unicycle around a fiery stage and juggling with axes on top of a balanced ladder, but despite impressing the judges, he missed out on a place in Sunday’s final.

Peter, who says his ultimate dream is to be a headline act in Las Vegas, was described as ‘a complete nutter’ with a ‘fantastic personality’ by the show’s judging panel.

Amanda Holden said, “You looked like you were loving what was going on. It looked extraordinary. There was danger, there were axes and fire, but what I loved best of all was your enthusiasm.”

David Walliams added, “What I love about you Peter is that you’re a complete nutter. I really hope people get behind you.

“I personally loved the ladder wobbling and for me, it couldn’t go on long enough.”

Alesha Dixon also said, “I love you. It was a bit mad but you have a fantastic personality that we need to see more of.”

The entertainer, who by his own admission goes ‘crazy’ when on stage, had struggled to complete his dangerous act during the rehearsals, but managed to pull it off for the first time during the live show on Friday evening (May 29).

Peter, who lives in Hailsham with his parents and describes his act as ‘totally unique’, had received good luck messages before the show, including from Eastbourne’s former Britain’s Got Talent finalist, ventriloquist Steve Hewlett. He took to Twitter to say, “Just dropped your trophy off mate! Break a... You know the rest.”

Prior to his semi-final performance, Peter said, “I’m going to be performing the most dangerous act ever seen on TV.

“If something goes wrong, I could chop both of my arms off, and even a leg.

“Hopefully I’ll make it off stage alive.”
