Emergency services were sent to Croxden Way, Eastbourne, after a cow became stuck in a waterway.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 11.25am, to try and rescue the animal near the Cuckoo Trail.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Officer Chris Baker said, “We were called by a member of the public to a cow in a ditch. We have a specialist animal rescue unit in Crowborough, so they would get notified and come to the location.
“We lifted the animal out of the ditch and put her on hard ground, and just released her. She will go back to her herd now.
“She was probably stuck in there for over an hour but she was quite compliant and placid really - one of the more docile ones we’ve had to rescue.”
