A Government decision on £10m funding towards a new Newhaven port access road is set to be made in September.
East Sussex County Council has already agreed £13m towards the project, with central Government promising £10m
Rupert Simmons, ESCC’s lead member for the economy, said that the Department for Transport has taken the funding decision back ‘into further consideration’ along with around 40 other projects nationwide.
He told councillors at a Full Council meeting today (Tuesday July 14) that a final decision was due to be announced in September.
