It was all hands to the pumps at Bohemia Road Fire Station last Saturday (September 12) but in a slightly different role than usual when East Sussex Fire and Rescue Fire Fighters held a car wash morning to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
Fire Fighters from Green Watch, Bohemia and The Ridge, invited motorists into the yard at the rear of Bohemia Road station, to have their cars washed and hosed down in exchange for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity.
Founded in 1943, The Fire Fighters Charity initially helped wounded firefighters and provided support to their families during World War II.
Today, the charity continues to exist to help members of the fire and rescue community who put their lives on the line every day to save others, whilst providing support for their families.
