AN UPSET GROUP of people gathered outside Hailsham Police Station to demand answers about the Darren Crixton murder investigation.

Between 50 to 60 people including family members and friends of Mr Crixton went to the town centre building at 3pm yesterday, Wednesday, January 25.

The group were concerned about the direction of the investigation into Mr Crixton’s murder.

He sadly died from injuries after he was stabbed around three times in woods near Bramble Drive on Sunday, January 22.

Wealden District Commander, Chief Inspector Dick Coates, updated them on the investigation and how the bail process works. The group left shortly afterwards.

Chief Inspector Dick Coates said: “Darren’s death has been devastating for his family and friends, and affected many others in Hailsham.

“We respect and understand the outpouring of emotion this afternoon and I met immediately with them to discuss their views.

“This has been a fast-paced investigation into the tragic and untimely death of a young man. Police are continuing to follow many lines of inquiry and we will update his family as regularly as we can.

“Officers remain in the area to listen and talk to local people. I continue to encourage anyone with information to speak to my officers in Hailsham or call us on 101.”
