A 43-year-old man was handed a second ban for drink-driving after he crashed his van into the back of a car on the A27.
Kevin Burke was arrested at 5.20pm on June 30 after his Ford Transit smashed into a Skoda Fabia on the A27 between the Southerham and Kingston roundabouts in Lewes.
Burke, who has served a two-year ban for drink-driving imposed in 1998, was slurring his words but was unable to give officers a sample of breath to test.
Burke, of Parkway East, Kirkby, Merseyside, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 20.
He was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £110 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
