The A27 is blocked this evening (Thursday, August 6) after a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a lorry trailer.
The road is blocked in Kingston, near Lewes, and traffic is currently stationary eastbound between Falmer and the Ashcombe roundabout.
Diversions are in place through Newhaven but the incident is having a knock-on effect on traffic across East Sussex.
Cars travelling eastbound on the A27 are being turned around and there are tailbacks as far as Hollingbury.
Emergency services are at the scene and motorists are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
